Large Primitive Wooden Beehive Dough Bowl With Lip Edge

125 USD

This late 1800's, early American, country primitive, wooden dough bowl was once the workhorse of the kitchen. This bowl is extra nice because of it's size, a bit out of round, typical of hand turned bowls, measuring a very large 17-1/4" across. It's deeper than a lot of other bowls, giving it more of a beehive shape measuring 5-1/2" tall. You can still see and feel the ridges on the inside from the hand tool marks with nice wood grain showing both inside and out. It sits sturdy on a flat bottom and it has a lipped edge to catch drips from running down the side of the bowl. Signs of it being used as a chopping bowl can be seen in the pictures along some of the edge. There is a well worn hole in the side where it was hung on the wall, up and out of the way.
No cracks or splits to the wood which has a lovely old patina color. Price:
